Design hometel Haidlmadl in the Bavarian forest

Traveling within the borders of your own country is the new normal in 2020. But now there is another trend to spot. Staying in so-called hometels (“home” + “hotels”) is strongly on the rise. These hometels combine the best of both types of accommodation: the designer holiday homes offer the comfort of a classic hotel, but thanks to stylish and above all individual furnishings they look like real homes instead of a 08/15 hotel room. This way guests can be at home and feel like real locals.

Lately I enjoyed taking pictures of a real nice example. The Haidlmadl in the Bavarian forest. It is a design refuge with Bed & Breakfast, right on the “Bohemian” border which is the gateway to the Šumava National Park. Outfitted with three beautifuly furnished holiday apartements surrounded by a magical garden and a warmly welcoming host. An oasis of peace and tranquillity in the middle of an intact nature, away from any large town.

What more can a traveller be looking for in Covid times?

Thanks a lot for the nice production help Jessika Boltze.
